About

The Ride for Nature, formerly called the Ridges Ride, is set for June 16, 2012. Registration opens January 15.

New in 2012, a metric century distance (62 miles) will be added to the 100-mile, 50-mile 25-mile and family ride (15-mile) options. Each of the routes will begin and end at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall, traversing the picturesque back roads of northern Door County. Support services and rest stops will be provided along each route, and a festive atmosphere with food, beverages and music will wrap up the days activities.

The event will mark the 24th annual bike ride to benefit The Ridges Sanctuary in Baileys Harbor – Wisconsin’s oldest nonprofit nature preserve. Proceeds from the ride will help the organization continue their educational programming as they celebrate their 75th anniversary and embark upon a capital campaign for a new interpretive center.

This year’s Ride for Nature is once again presented by Door County Living magazine. Main sponsors include the Baileys Harbor Community Association, Baileys Harbor Cornerstone Pub, Main Street Market, Nor Door Sport & Cyclery, Ministry Health - Door County Memorial Hospital, Baileys Harbor Yacht Club and FM 106.9 The Lodge. Other sponsorship opportunities are still available.

The Ride for Nature is organized by the Peninsula Pacers, the group responsible for the success of the Door County Half Marathon & Nicolet Bay 5k.
